My sister, Shannon Kurashige, and I founded a dance company called Sharp & Fine in 2011. We premiered our first evening-length work, a collaboration with writer Kat Howard, in July 2012 at Z Space in San Francisco. We are currently working on two projects for 2013. One is about love songs. The other is an adaptation of Neil Gaiman's "Queen of Knives," one of my favorite poems in the world.
I also dance for Liss Fain Dance in San Francisco. Right now, we're performing dance installations that combine dance, theater, music, and literature.
I trained at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance under the direction of Summer Lee Rhatigan. I have previously worked with choreographers Christian Burns (burns-work) and Alex Ketley (The Foundry), and performed with Ballet Pacifica and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal.
